Good morning at Buckmore Park today with Liam Mineham. We are preparing a map of the whole site showing what is where and a separate map to extend the orienteering course. Liam and I walked around the JOTT route and now have a suggested extension on our land to the west of the bridleway. It might have to be JOTT extreme as there is no real path and it is quite steep. We found what looks like a bomb hole - great for an aerial runway. People have asked for the orienteering course to be extended. A combination of 8th Dartford at the last work party and with Liam today has lead to a significant expansion of the orienteering courses. We haven't used the whole of the campsite (yet!) but offers a good length course and harder than the 2 current courses. Hopefully Liam will post our gone west selfie. A challenge from Liam and myself - we'll show you where we were on the map - can you navigate to the same spot and take a selfie of the same tree? Map and compass and an hour or two will be essential!
We met Andy B working on the mountain bike course. Its a little muddy at the moment but will be great fun in a month or two.
We have plans to continue to develop Buckmore Park but need your help.

Our work party yesterday had a huge turnout which we are extremely pleased with. So many jobs were successfully completed. From painting to leaf blowing, to clearing the chapel and creating steps for the ranges. Thank you all for your efforts whether you could spare an hour or all day, we appreciated everyone's help.

Our first work party of the year was almost cancelled at short notice however, the weather did not stop everyone from turning out to help.
The less than expected 17 helpers worked extremely hard in muddy conditions to help fell the trees in preparation for our new road.
Buckmore park committee members Kelvin, Liam and Gavin turned up early to mark the trees that were to be removed by our chainsaw wealding Trog aka Clive.
They were assisted by 21st and 17th in removing the fallen trees.
Our DC also helped and she not only wasn't afraid to get her hands dirty but kept the fluids flowing in the form of strong tea which everyone was extremely grateful for.
We achieved more then we anticipated!
Thanks to all you guys mentioned and those we haven't.
See you next time ;-)
